Give Hope to Families & Children Living in Refugee Camps Before the Summer Heat Becomes Unbearable.

HADITH: “O people, spread السلام (peace), feed the hungry, maintain family ties, and pray at night while people are asleep, and you will enter Paradise in peace.”  Jami’ al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 2485

According to the UN, over 12 million people have been displaced across Northeast Africa. Countless children and families now face hunger, dangerous summer temperatures, and a daily fight for survival. Your Sadaqah can give them hope today.

A Humanitarian Crisis Is Pushing Families to the Brink of Famine

Displaced families have been forced from their homes with nothing, and more than half the country faces acute hunger today.

9 million+ people internally displaced

3.5 million+ have fled across borders in search of safety

Almost 29 million people face acute hunger, including over 755,000 in catastrophic conditions

Famine has been confirmed in several regions, with water, health care, and shelter severely limited

The Hardest Thing a Mother Can Face Is Watching Her Child Die from Hunger.

With humanitarian aid blocked from reaching vulnerable families, many have turned to desperate measures.
Hawa, a mother of four, watches her hungry children as the day draws to a close. Tonight, their only meal is a small bowl of brownish pellets —residues of pressed oilseeds like peanuts, sesame, and sunflower. Locally known as ambaz, this mixture is usually used as animal fodder.

“We have no money, no way to leave, and nowhere to go,” says Hawa, a mother of four. Once able to prepare nutritious meals, she now feeds her children ambaz—food normally used for animals.

Because there is nothing else. Her youngest baby is growing weaker as hunger leaves her unable to produce enough milk, while her son continues to lose weight each day.
“The children are hungry. Instead of sleeping, they spend the night crying,” Hawa says. “Our children are dying.”

“If anyone relieves a Muslim believer from one of the hardships of this worldly life, Allah will relieve him of one of the hardships of the Day of Resurrection… Allah helps His slave as long as he helps his brother.”
— Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, Sahih Muslim
